The Texas State Chorale under the direction of Artist in Residence, Craig Hella Johnson will weave a dramatic representation of the Passion, as told in the Gospel according to John, constructed of dramatically presented recitatives and choruses, with commentary through reflective chorales, ariosos, and arias. J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion, BWV 245 has been described as “extravagant, with an expressive immediacy, at times unbridled” (from txstatepresents.universitytickets.com). Featuring Dann Coakwell, tenor, in the title role as Evangelist.
