Conspirare Symphonic Choir will hold auditions in January 2015. We accept pre-audition materials online only through the Symphonic Choir audition form, and experienced choral singers in all voice parts are invited to apply. Tenors and basses are especially encouraged.
To be considered for the January auditions, please submit your materials by December 15, 2014, using the online form. Materials received after that date will be considered only if spaces remain in the January audition schedule. They will remain on file for future auditions.
Singers who submit materials will be notified of their audition status by December 23, 2014. Singers selected for a January audition will receive instructions for scheduling an audition appointment. Auditions will be conducted by Artistic Director Craig Hella Johnson on January 10 and 13, 2015. Auditions are eight minutes long and consist of vocalization exercises, sight-reading, and one prepared piece.
Conspirare Symphonic Choir operates on a roster basis. Once accepted to the choir, each member is placed on a master roster from which Mr. Johnson selects specific singers for each program. Ensemble size and personnel vary depending on requirements of the repertoire, and each singer on the roster may or may not be invited to perform in a given program.
Symphonic Choir members are volunteer singers. They purchase their own music, provide their own performance attire, and are responsible for their own travel-related expenses.
The next Symphonic Choir concert is Great Big Choruses in June 2015, with performances in Victoria and Austin. The entire roster will be invited to perform, including those newly accepted in January.
