Spotlight on Ms. Revering

Our fearless leader, Ms. Nina Revering, is on her way to her beloved Crested Butte, Colorado! She will once again direct the Opera Children’s chorus for their Summer Music Festival! This summer her children will participate with the Opera Studio in a fully-staged production of Verdi’s beloved opera, Falstaff. The young singers will also perform a stand-alone concert of music for the Crested Butte Community. It is a small ensemble with 13 singers, and they will receive one month of daily instruction with plenty of individualized work with Ms. Revering as well as a wonderful collaborative theater instructor, Kristel Jellinek Brown.

In other exciting news, Ms. Revering was named in two recent high-profile awards: an NEA grant for her work in Crested Butte and the Texas Women in the Arts grant for her work with CYC! Lastly, Ms. Revering was recently engaged to travel to Kenya in the fall under the auspices of the Weill Institute of Carnegie Hall and the local non-profit, Recorders Without Borders, to work with children in Nairobi and Mombasa.
