Stefan Reed, tenor, originally from Glasgow, Virginia, is currently based in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Stefan received his Bachelor of Arts in music from George Mason University where he was awarded the Best Overall Performer Award at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Regional Competition. He completed his master’s degree in vocal performance at New England Conservatory and as a fellow at Tanglewood Music Festival worked closely with Phyllis Curtin, James Levine, William Sharp, Lucy Shelton, and Dawn Upshaw. Recent engagements include several performances with Handel & Haydn Society, including the Evangelist in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and soloist for Bach’s Magnificat, as well as Purcell’s King Arthur with Seraphic Fire and Firebird Chamber Orchestra. Stefan has also performed solo parts with Back Bay Chorale, Mount Vernon Symphony, Marsh Chapel Choir and Collegium, Tanglewood Chamber Music Ensemble, and both the Boston and Maryland Masterworks Chorales.
