Michel Kennell is a singer, music director, arranger, and Austin native. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Studies. While at The University of Texas, Mrs. Kennell studied voice with David Small, who has performed over 70 Opera roles and performed with many different choruses and ensembles including Austin Opera. She also performed under director, Jim Morrow, in the top ensemble at The University of Texas, the UT Chamber Singers. She has also performed with other awarded choirs such as Panoramic Voices, Austin Inversion Ensemble, and Austin Cantorum. In addition, she is the assistant director of contemporary a cappella group, Carpe Sono, who in 2016 performed under the director of Deke Sharon at Carnegie Hall in New York City, music director for the “Pitch Perfect” films. Michel Kennell is currently the head choir director for the award-winning Kealing Middle School Singing Hornets Choir program.
