Joan Ely Carlson

Joan Ely Carlson has been a member of Conspirare since 1998. She sings in the Compline Choir of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin and often serves as cantor for the short, meditative service of ancient evening prayer. She is also a tenured violinist in the Austin Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Victoria Bach Festival Orchestra, where she also serves in the capacity of librarian. In a slightly different part of the musical spectrum, Joan is a violinist and singer for Austin POPS, Austin’s premier rock-and-roll orchestra.
