Still We Sing
Be the first to experience the world premiere of a new work by composer Alex Berko. Immerse yourself in 100 voices telling a musical story that draws on nonviolent singing resistance movements from around the world and across history, speaking to the shared experience of those coming together to sing in the face of adversity.
Individual stories unfold before you through soloists, then swell as a chorus grows around them. You’ll hear poetry, primary sources, hymns, lullabies, and folk songs woven together with orchestral interludes. Libretto by Berko and acclaimed librettist Tony Silvestri.
Performed by Conspirare Symphonic Choir with a vocal octet from the GRAMMY®-winning chamber choir and chamber orchestra.
